Tampere, Finland (October 11, 2010). Labwise announced today that it has certified the first CI Plus CAM (conditional access module) for use in the Finnish market. The certification process leverages the extensive test and validation capabilities of Digital Keystone’s HPNX DVB™ tool suite to ensure CAM compliance with all CI Plus specifications.
Pasi Toiva, President and CEO of Labwise, said “It is critical for any certification process to utilize a comprehensive and trusted tool suite to ensure reliable, repeatable, demonstrable results. We are very pleased to entrust the Digital Keystone HPNX DVB and SPYBoard™ tool suite with this, and to incorporate these tools in our formal Acceptance Test Procedures. HPNX DVB continues to offer us (and all CI Plus developers) a robust approach to test and validation.”
Paolo Siccardo, President and CEO of Digital Keystone, said “Labwise performs a strict and independent certification process to ensure that only fully-qualified host and CAM devices are approved for deployment on operator networks. We are pleased that Labwise continues to rely on Digital Keystone’s HPNX DVB to accomplish this substantial certification activity.”
HPNX DVB is the leading DVB-CI / CI Plus validation tool, used by the most advanced test laboratories, operators and manufacturers around the world. Based on the industry-reference HPNX Pro, HPNX DVB provides content security development and validation features for DVB-CI and CI Plus. The tool consists of a hardware-based real-time CAM emulator and PC application. This combination allows the user to trigger and analyze all CAM communication (including critical security components), to force negative test cases, and to validate the behavior of the TV receiver against the complete set of DVB-CI and CI Plus requirements. HPNX DVB includes optional automation and spy modes, allowing scripted validation and detailed protocol analysis of the complete CAM-Host ecosystem. The HPNX DVB validation tool is available directly from Digital Keystone.
